Club volleyball, in conjunction with Volleyball BC, starts with tryouts in late November, early December (depending on age category). Club season typically runs until early May where teams finish off with the Provincials.
When is tryout registration?
Tryout registration will open early October. All athletes must register prior to attending the tryouts. Registration is completed through our website.

Currently we do not offer any boys programs. If you or anyone you know is wanting to volunteer to coach a boys team, please contact us as our club is very interested in starting a boys program.
What is the time commitment to be an athlete on an OVC Eagles club team?
Typically teams practice 2-3 times per week from December to May. The OVC season schedule is tournament based and will be set by the team at the beginning of the season. Typically teams will compete in 6-8 tournaments on and off the Island. Most teams end their season with the Provincials on the lower Mainland.
How much does the club season cost?
OVC is a non-profit organization and in no way profit off your fees. Our Directors and coaches are volunteers who dedicate countless hours to the athletes. Depending on how many tournaments teams decide to attend will determine the cost.
Where and when do OVC Eagles players train?
Our athletes practice throughout SD69 gymnasiums. This is the first year that SD69 will be charging a user fee for gym rental. OVC Eagles are pleased to announce that for 2024 club season and on we have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to utilize their gym next to Parksville City Hall. The OVC Eagles have nicknamed this gym ‘The Nest’.

No, OVC welcomes athletes from all neighboring communities such as Nanaimo, Port Alberni and Comox Valley to come and tryout for our Club teams.
